About the Artist
Nina Borgia-Aberle has been making sculpture for 25 years, and public
art for 10 years. Early in her involvement with public art Nina began
designing, fabricating and installing architectural tile for many of
her projects. Nina’s ceramic art invites you to touch it, which
is usually people’s first response. As Nina’s public art
projects grew in scope and scale she incorporated other media to include
a more broad range of materials.
Nina begins with a concept and then chooses materials that work best to bring that idea to fruition. She has worked on projects that include architectural tile, sandblasted stone, terrazzo, interactive light, masonry, cast concrete and cast metal, and with budgets ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Independently or as part of a design team, Nina has worked with engineers, architects, landscape architects and the community to develop art for interior and exterior settings.
Donor Recognition Art is an important part of Nina’s creative work.
Nina has designed and created custom donor recognition murals, donor walls, room naming plaques and individual donor gifts for many non-profit organizations. Each project brings new challenges requiring creative problem solving to accommodate the varying needs of permanence, change, portability, or structural integration. Each organization has its individual identity, needs, and goals. One of the most important aspects of Nina’s process is getting to know your organization and community so the donor recognition art can help you meet your goals of helping others. Whether you are honoring capital campaign donors, annual givers, volunteers, or looking for individual gifting ideas, Nina is searching for the most creative way to help you honor those who have given generously to the causes about which you care deeply.
